If you are receiving this email, congratulations! It means that your internet is working much better than mine has been recently!
It also means, that I probably think you are more than a little weird and by extension pretty interesting and so I consider your early feedback to be important to my endeavors.
You have been chosen to participate in what I hope will be a fruitful experiment in multimedia publishing and community building. After multiple conversations with my wife Bibi and more recently, my friends Singto and Modé, I figured it was probably time to give my propensity for sharing a more directional outlet.
The Praxis Circus is my attempt to bring some structure to themes and topics I have been interested in for the longest time now via reading, writing, developing projects (Stranger, The Dyad Network etc) and link sharing. It is almost certain that if you are reading this you have been part of this journey as a fellow traveler.
This weekly newsletter is just one part of a troika of channels that will all feed into each other and overlap with other projects I am part of. The newsletter will replace the web links I send to some of you via email and serve as a way to share the things I have been doing during the week. For those of you who have never received any of these emails before, the links tend to run the gamut of psychology, wellness, philosophy, tech, business development, media and more. I will try to keep it digestible, but I hope to foster conversations in this more intimate space and on a more consistent basis. I will endeavor to respond to as many of your emails as possible, so please send stuff to me regarding anything in the newsletter (or outside of it!) that catches your fancy.
The newsletter will be supported by a podcast where I will endeavor to do a slightly deeper dive on certain topics and just generally do other podcasty things.
Finally, there will be the in-person meetups which will span from workshops, lunches/dinners and possibly gaming leagues.
I am a firm believer in the power of building community via real life meetings. In the spirit of projects like Black Mountain College, Burning Man and other alternative culture gatherings, each ”irl” meet will be an opportunity to learn, grow and have fun.
Human flourishing, community, sustainability, organisation, design, art, fashion, politics, games, play, film, narrative, speculative fiction, sociology, economics, business, biology, physics, the human condition and more. These are topics I hope to explore via The Praxis Circus.
I hope this is of some interest to you. If it is, and you know somebody that might also find The Praxis Circus interesting, please feel free to share this email with them.
If you aren’t, and/or you are not sure why or how you got added to this mailing list, please feel free to unsubscribe - it’d make me cry, but I’d understand 😢.
Well, that’s about it till the official first issue.
Take care and be safe.
